Personal journaling for Education for the Future course

he Education for the Future course is helping me inculcate a habit I have wanted to for a long time now. I am finding myself reflecting on my time with the rest of nature. I tend to engage in at least 3 activities everyday that help me find my place amongst the other species —

— I spend time in our front yard. It is a vegetable, fruit, flower garden of all things that we can grow in our climate. I tend to spend some time by myself everyday and at other times with my 13 month old as he observes what I am doing and finds his unique ways to participate.

— I take a half-hour walk with my 13 month old along the lake that we live on. Taking a walk with him is refreshing. He pauses way more than I ever would and takes me to spots I have barely noticed after having lived on this lake for over 2 years now.

— I run around the lake by myself, focusing on my breath, pausing to see my thoughts, feeling the breeze and letting my being feel all of life around.

I imagine that a lot of my personal journaling for the Education for the Future course will stem from one or all of these daily activities.
