Design Thinking, Tinkering, Art, Technology and Environment

Design Thinking is an integrated thinking and learning approach. It engages learners to understand a problem, empathize with the people plagued by the problem, brainstorm ideas for solutions, build a solution, test it and share results. It is the bedrock of software and other product development. This approach is now making inroads in education to cut across subject areas and involve learners inquiring into integrated topics and questions.

Tinkering, Art and Technology are all media that can be used to understand questions and build solutions to problems.

Anoo has a particular love of the natural world. She is developing herself an educator who explores ecosystems and leads outdoor explorations that build relationships with the larger natural world. The outdoor explorations (in a vegetable garden, on a hike, in a stream or a wetland or on a mountain) lead to questions and understanding that can be explored through Design Thinking that uses Art and Technology.

You can expect to see more writing on this topic and potentially some camps and afterschool offerings that braid together these areas.
